900 Degree Wood-Fired Oven Bakes “Smokin Fast, Smokin Fresh” Pizza in 90 Seconds
Residents, students and visitors to Cedar Falls, Iowa will find a unique culinary destination with the opening of a SMOKIN’ OAK WOOD-FIRED PIZZA franchise in the brand new Panther Travel Plaza. The plaza will be located at 1625 West Ridgeway Avenue in Cedar Falls near the University of Northern Iowa. The new restaurant will be open seven days a week and offer patrons a new breakfast menu being introduced for this location. Guests craving a casual, family-friendly atmosphere will find a unique menu that provides the opportunity to enjoy a “Smokin Fast, Smokin Fresh” wood-fired pizza that uses only fresh ingredients. The opening date is projected to be Spring, 2020.
The creative developer behind the Panther Travel Plaza concept is area resident and community business leader Marty Rouse. He is passionate about providing local residents and travelers a solution to their hunger cravings. He believes the fresh-ingredient concept where guests can pick from 12 Signature Pizzas or build their own pizzas with unlimited toppings will appeal to all ages. “Smokin’ Oak’s ingredients are so fresh we literally will not have a freezer in the restaurant,” said Rouse. Guests are promised authentic, artisan pizza with no pre-processed or frozen ingredients. Smokin’ Oak’s unique wood-fired taste starts with scratch-made dough that rests for two days before baking, which creates a lighter, more digestible crust. “We’ll roast our meats every morning in our 5,000-pound wood-fired oven and chop vegetables fresh throughout the day. We’re excited to introduce such a phenomenal concept to the community and are confident Smokin’ Oak Wood-Fired Pizza will be a welcome addition,” Rouse added.

Customers may also order online for take-out or dine-in. The new Smokin’ Oak Wood Fired-Pizza will begin hiring employees in early 2020.
AREA COMMUNITY LEADER AND ENTREPRENEUR OFFERS UNIQUE CULINARY CONCEPT
Area entrepreneur Marty Rouse is the visionary behind the Panther Travel Plaza project. His family name is well known in the area as the owner of Rouse Motor Company Inc. in Grundy Center. The new pizza destination will be a welcome addition for students, faculty and visitors to the nearby University of Northern Iowa campus.
